Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko attended the CIS summit

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko speaking at the session said reported on the efforts to promote legal framework for regional cooperation. Two pieces of legislation are in progress: model law on Cross-Border Cooperation and Regional Cooperation. We are working on the concept of cross-border and regional cooperation. And our contribution is four draft model laws on Local Authorities in Cross-border Cooperation, Migration and Cross-Border Education, as well as the draft CIS Convention on Regional Cooperation to be submitted for approval at the November session.

Next regular summit will be held in Astana late in 2015.
