Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko met with President of the Kyrghyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev

President of the Kyrghyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev welcomed Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko in Kyrghyzstan.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council addressed the audience in her welcoming speech: “The Interparliamentary Assembly of member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic co-organize the international cultural and educational forum of the CIS member nations ‘Children of the Commonwealth’ for the fifth time. I would like to thank you for your assistance. It is important that such forum brings together the children of the CIS member nations and teachers. Effectively, we are creating a unified humanitarian space”.

The parties discussed the issues of multilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation and interaction under the auspices of the CIS, CSTO, EAEU, SCO and other organizations.

Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Alexey Sergeev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov, and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev also participated in the meeting.
