Valentina Matvienko held a bilateral meeting with Chynybai Tursunbekov

In the course of the visit to the Kyrghyz Republic Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko met with Speaker of the jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Chynybai Tursunbekov.

The parties discussed the issues of cooperation in the framework of the international parliamentary organizations and integration associations. The Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council specifically noted the effective cooperation under the auspices of the IPA CIS. “We value the exchange of experience, work to elaborate model laws, approximation of legislation”, emphasized Valentina Matvienko.

The Chairman of the IPA CIS Council also drew attention to the importance of developing humanitarian ties that help preserve a single cultural space.

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Chynybai Tursunbekov expressed gratitude to Valentina Matvienko for her participation in the international cultural and educational forum “Children of the Commonwealth” and stressed that holding this forum on the shore of Issyk-Kul is becoming a good tradition.

The parties also touched upon the issue of delegation of the IPA CIS observers to the election of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will be held on 15 October.
