Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council will address the Conference of Speakers of Parliament of CE member states

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation will speak at the Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the members states of the Council of Europe which will take place on 15-16 September in the CE headquarters in Strasbourg.

"International parliamentary forums are necessary for dialogue and discussion of relevant issues, as well as for finding consensus. This is a pre-requisite for stability in Europe", said Valentina Matvienko.

In the margins of the Conference, Valentina Matvienko will have several bi-lateral meetings, in particular with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland and PA CE President Pedro Agramunt, as well as with heads of national delegations.

The delegation at the Conference includes Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev, IPA CIS Secretary General Alexey Sergeev.
