Ilham Aliyev presents Order "Friendship" of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Valentina Matvienko

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko met with President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev during her visit to Baku. The parties noted the active development of the Russian-Azerbaijani dialogue in many areas.

The parties discussed inter-parliamentary and inter-regional cooperation. Ilham Aliyev stressed the important contribution of parliamentarians, and personally the IPA CIS Council Chairperson, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, to the development of bilateral relations in various fields, building a spirit of cooperation and trust between the two countries. In recognition of these efforts, Ilham Aliyev nominated Valentina Matvienko for the Azerbaijan Republic Order "Friendship". One of the key issues of the meeting was humanitarian cooperation.

The meeting brought together members of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, as well as Secretary General, Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov.
