The outcomes of the autumn session of the IPA CIS

On 26-27 November the Tavricheskiy Palace, the headquarters of the IPA CIS, held the autumn session.
It was marked by the Council of the Heads of the CIS Migration Authorities Sessions, by the meetings of the IPA CIS Council, the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the meetings of permanent commissions: The Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, the permanent commission on the Economy and Finance, the Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Cooperation, the Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment, the Permanent Commission on Science and Education. The 43rd Plenary Session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations took place.
Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko noted that the CIS parliaments could not ignore the current global situation and its influence on migration processes.
The participants also discussed the counter-terrorism efforts. According to Valentina Matvienko the interparliamentary diplomacy has an important role to play in struggle against terrorism. The Parliaments, IPA members, also stand for close cooperation in the international stage, which should help in closing the legislation gaps for terrorists and extremists and encourage governments to act more decisively and consistently in the fight against terrorism.
The 43rd plenary session focused on 20 different documents, 5 of them are about migration.
