Valentina Matvienko: “Intergovernmental agencies on information exchange among the CIS members provide a good platform for cultural engagement”

IPA CIS Secretary General Alexey Sergeev attended the session.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko presided over the session. The participants discussed the issues of information exchange in the CIS, its role in the dialogue of cultures, promotion of values and public awareness. She stressed that sometimes information support cannot lags behind the pace of the Eurasian integration.

“Awareness-raising is imperative at all levels. The action must engage the media, opinion -makers, experts and parliamentarians”, said Valentina Matvienko.
