Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko and ambassadors of the IPA CIS member nations discussed the expansion of humanitarian cooperation

Earlier, the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko met with the ambassadors of the IPA CIS member nations. The meeting discussed one of the priorities in the CIS which is the expansion of humanitarian cooperation. As an example of broader cooperation Ms Matvienko quoted the IPA CIS Plan of Action dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War which includes the Living Memories Tour of the CIS capitals to meet the war veterans and bring them together with youth leaders in an effort to close the generational divide and tributary attendance of war memorials. Another community-led initiative is the Green Wave a massive drive to break new green spaces in the CIS cities to celebrate the Victory and those who made it happen. The Speaker also reminded that 2015 is the Year of Veterans in the CIS. It shoud not remain a declaratory gesture but rather a celebration of their glory.
