Valentina Matvienko paid an official visit to the Republic of Armenia

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko is in Armenia with the official visit.

The head of the Interparliamentary Assembly held the negotiation with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Galust Saakyan and later on with the leaders of factions and heads of parliamentary committees.

IPA CIS Council Chairperson, Speaker of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

The parties discussed the outlook for the bilateral relation and the issues on the international agenda.

The same day Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Ovik Abraamyan.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues including interparlimentary cooperation.

Valentina Matvienko reminded that the heads of the CIS had approved the idea of organizing the Forum of regions of the CIS member nations in the 2nd half of 2016; Armenia is expected to join the preparations for this important even; Armenia is expected to join the preparations for this important event.
