Valentina Matvienko took part in the celebration of the 312th anniversary of St. Petersburg

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko participated in the ceremony of laying flowers at the foot of the monument to Peter the Great, the founder of St. Petersburg.

A lot of distinguished citizens took part in the ceremony.

The festal occasion was accompanied by performing the city anthem by children’s chorus.

In the Rotonda of the Mariinskiy Palace Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko was awarded the badge of honour # 1 “For the particular contribution in the development of St. Petersburg”. According to Vyacheslav Makarov, the award proves significant achievements of Valentina Matvienko when she was the governor of St. Petersburg.
