CIS Executive Committee Discussed Documents for 80th Anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War

On 7 June 2024, an expert group meeting took place at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk to discuss drafts of the Address by CIS Heads of State to the peoples of the Commonwealth and the global community on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as decisions of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and the CIS Council of Heads of State on this issue (via video conferencing).

Authorized representatives and experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the International Union of “Commonwealth of Veterans’ Organizations (Pensioners) of Independent States” and the CIS Executive Committee participated in the meeting.

The Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council was represented by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues Alexander Borisov and Secretary of the Joint Commission at the IPA CIS on Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges Stanislav Korostelyov.

During the meeting, experts reviewed the received comments and approved the draft documents. The CIS Executive Committee was proposed to send the meeting materials to the Commonwealth countries for domestic approval, after which they will be submitted for consideration to the highest bodies of the Commonwealth.
