Delegations of IPA CIS and Central American Parliament Met in Moscow

The First International Parliamentary Conference “Russia – Latin America” was held in Moscow under the initiative of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russia Federation. The main topic was “Cooperation for a just world for all”.
More than 200 participants, including MPs from different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean Region, experts, public figures, diplomats and representatives of international organizations took part in the Conference. From the IPA CIS Secretariat the event was attended by Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of the IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD) Ivan Mushket, Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk and Head of the Department for International Relations of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Maksimillian Selyutin.
A bilateral meeting was also held by the delegation of the IPA CIS and the PARLACEN. , where sides expressed theirreadiness in continuing cooperation on issues of common interest.
Delegates from the PARLACEN expressed their willingness to participate in the 56th IPA CIS plenary session which will be held in Bishkek on 16-17 November 2023.
Plans for the development of integration processes between Eurasia and Latin America were announced at the meeting. The sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation and confirmed their interest in further cooperation.
The delegation of the PARLACEN was represented by its President Amado Cerrud Acevedo, Vice-President of the PARLACEN Guillermo Daniel Ortega Reyes, Vice-President of the PARLACEN Engels Pineda, Chair of the Health and Social Security Committee Carlos Luis Sanchez Soliman and Member of the Committee on Food Security, Environment, Natural Resources and Risk Management Ramon Emilio Gori Taveras. Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Alexey Dolzhikov, Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – IPA CIS IIMDD Director Ivan Musket, Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk and Head of the Department for International Relations of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Maksimillian Selyutin represented the IPA CIS Secretariat.
