Experts Assessed Activities of IPA CIS in Preserving Memory of Great Patriotic War

On 12-14 November, the annual international research to practice conference “12th Volkonskiye Readings” took place in St. Petersburg under the auspices of the Military Science Committee of the Russian Federation Armed Forces. The conference was attended by more than 130 historians and military officers from the CIS and other countries.

The topic of this year’s conference was “Liberating the Fatherland, Liberating Europe. Russia and its Allies in the Wars of the XIX-XX Centuries”.

The IPA CIS Council Secretariat was represented at the conference by the Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security issues Alexander Borisov and Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport Igor Minin.

They spoke about the activities of the Assembly to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War, which was highly appreciated by the participants of the events.

At the end of the meetings, they adopted a resolution and decided to continue holding the “Volkonskiye Readings” in an annual format.
