Experts Discussed Challenges and Prospects of CIS Tourism Industry

International Tourism Forum Travel Hub “Commonwealth” continues its work in the headquarters – the IPA CIS headquarters. At the foresight session “Tourism in the CIS Member Nations – Challenges and Prospects”, representatives of tourism industry and relevant authorities discussed the effect of global trends on market changes, drivers and stoppers of the integration of the CIS Member Nations into a single tourism space, as well as prospects for the industry in the near future.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy delivered a welcoming speech and mentioned the initiatives in the field of tourism implemented by the Assembly and some parliaments of the CIS Member Nations.
Chair of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development Sergey Korneev spoke about overcoming the difficult pandemic period and restoring tourism potential in St. Petersburg.
Chair of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dastan Ryspekov touched upon the development of the human resources potential of the tourism industry. Representative of the Tourism Committee at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Lusine Avagyan noted the increase in the number of tourists to the Republic after the pandemic and the advantages of the tourism industry in Armenia.
President of the Tourism Development Support Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic Elena Kalashnikova spoke about the tourist attractiveness of the country.
The discussion on the challenges and prospects of the CIS tourism industry was also attended by representative of the tourism industry of Tajikistan Eraj Muhammadjon-zade, Director of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Irina Voronovich, representative of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan Gulchehra Kasimova, representative of the Russian online booking service Daria Kochetkova, Director of the Tourism Agency Denis Ilyin and others.
