Experts Discussed Issues of Environmental Safety and Quality of Life in Large Cities

On 22-24 March 2022, the XXI International Forum “Ecology of the Big City” takes place in St. Petersburg.

The Forum was organized with the support of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg, the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the Veterinary Department of St. Petersburg.

Russian senators, representatives of ministries and agencies of the Russian Federation, academia and expert community attended the event. Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agrarian Policy, Natural Resources and Ecology Natalia Amburtseva represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the Forum.

Within the framework of the Forum, a plenary session and a number of thematic sections were held on the climate change, reformation of the waste management system, debris issue, the development of educational tourism in specially protected natural areas, the role of environmental education, the current state and prospects for the monitoring environment pollution.
