Indigenous Women to be Able to Implement their Initiatives under Eurasian Women’s Forum

The first Forum of Women of the North continues to work at the Tavricheskiy Palace. The business programme included a strategic session “Effective Communications as a Success Factor for Women of the North” attended by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova.

The senator described the main objectives of the forum as strengthening cooperation among women, expanding their opportunities in the implementation of projects aimed at the development of the northern territories of the country.

The organizers of the first Forum of Women of the North are the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Association of Indigenous Small-numbered Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Women’s Forum.

The Forum will be held on 5-7 June and will bring together about 300 participants, including community leaders from the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation, representatives of academia and education, women entrepreneurs and representatives of legislative and executive authorities.
