Meeting of CIS Advisory Board on Inter-Regional and Trans-Border Cooperation Took Place in Tashkent

On 15 December 2021, the 10th meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Inter-Regional and Trans-Border Cooperation took place via videoconferencing.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and was led by Chair of the Advisory Board, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saidkakhkhor Kholkhuzhaev.

The Advisory Board members discussed a number of issues, including the implementation of the CIS Concept of Inter-Regional and Trans-Border Cooperation until 2030 and the Action Plan for its implementation, as well as the CIS Convention on Interregional Cooperation. Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government Yelena Fominenko told the meeting participants about the Convention, which came into force for four countries – the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. She also informed the Council members about the work of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on other documents in the field of interregional and cross-border cooperation.
