Conference on the International Day of Democracy will take place in the Tavricheskiy Palace on 14 September

The event will take place in the format of academic debates on “Fundamental Principles of Democracy in the IPA CIS Member States: Universal or Unique?”

The debates will be attended by teams composed of postgraduate students and young professors from a number of leading universities of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, who will present their ideas on the issues of adherence of the IPA CIS member states to the fundamental principles of democracy, such as sovereignty, ensuring equal rights of citizens, election of state authorities and publicity of social life.

The event will include four rounds of debates on each of the mentioned topics.
