Draft model law “Organ Donation” presented to the CIS expert community in the field of healthcare

On 19–20 July, the 29^th meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Cooperation in the Field of Medical Care took place in Ashgabat (Republic of Turkmenistan). The event brought together the CIS Ministers of Healthcare, representatives of international organizations and academia.

The agenda features various issues related to healthcare and cooperation development in order to improve the health protection of the CIS citizens.

The event was also attended by Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the CIS Advisory Board on Medical Care Evgenia Vladimirova, who presented the participants the draft model law “Organ Donation”. This model law has been prepared with due account to the best practices of legislative regulation of organ donation in the CIS member states, its implementation, the existing international practices of regulation of the organ donation, as well as the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
