Equinox in the CIS

According to the solar calendar, Navruz is a celebration of a new year coming. It is a time of spiritual renewal, - a tradition dating back to millennia. The day of spring equinox, or otherwise known as Navruz, is a democratic festive event widely celebrated throughout the Caucasus, Central and Western Asia. Scientists reckon that it is at least three thousand years old symbolizing the passage of winter and arrival of spring.
