International Cultural and Educational Children’s Forum of the CIS countries is taking place in Cholpon-Ata

The opening ceremony of the Forum took place in Cultural Center Rukh-Ordo in Cholpon-Ata. It was attended by Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Assylbek Zheenbekov. He wished schoolchildren every success and a lot of interesting meetings at the Forum.

Member of the Legal Committee on Assignments and Immunity of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Igor Vremya and Member Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Budget and Taxes Tatyana Alexeeva also delivered their welcome addresses to the guests and participants of the Forum.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev presented Bakhtiyar Kadyrov a picture of the Tavricheskiy Palace – the IPA CIS Headquarters. He also passed certificates to the children winners of the IV International Cultural and Educational Children’s Forum of the CIS countries. They are invited to a tour of St. Petersburg on 8-10 December 2016.

Roundtable Children of the CIS Countries was held under the umbrella of the Forum. It was attended by Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Chynybai Tursunbekov and the IPA CIS delegation represented by Members of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, of the Russian Federation, Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev, Deputy Secretary General – representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut, Deputy Secretary General – representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev, Deputy Secretary General – representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Ion Lipciu, Deputy Secretary General – representative of the Majlisi oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Ibod Rakhimov.

Children participating at the Forum asked the organizers a lot of questions and also came up with an idea to extend the geography of the Forum. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Chynybai Tursunbekov suggested the issue should be on the agenda of the autumn session of the IPA CIS Council.

The Forum was attended by children from many CIS countries: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was organized by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and the IPA CIS Council. It has become a good tradition to hold the Forum on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.

The Forum kicked off on 16 June. During the Forum, every delegation has 1 day to arrange the whole set of activities and to attract other delegations. These activities may include information projects, sharing brochures, presentations, competitions, roundtables etc. This may become a good possibility to share opinions and to participate in discussions.

Workshops on making national souvenirs, cooking national dishes, sport competitions and smart games will also contribute to the cultural exchange.

The closing ceremony will take place on 22 June.
