IPA CIS and WHO Regional Office for Europe outline the areas of developing cooperation in Copenhagen

On 10–11 July the WHO Regional Office for Europe held a consultation on the preparation of the technical briefing for parliamentarians, which will take place on 16–19 September 2019 within the framework of the 69th session of the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Advisory Board on Healthcare Evgenia Vladimirova presented a review of the IPA CIS model legislation on healthcare, as well as the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS in the field of public health and made proposals for further cooperation between the organizations.

As noted, the technical assistance from the WHO Regional Office for Europe in the development of new IPA CIS draft model laws is highly desirable. These include model laws on tobacco control, public health, food marketing for children and other acts regulating the most relevant for the CIS member nations healthcare areas.
