Representatives of the consular missions accredited in St. Petersburg visited the IPA CIS HQ

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Yuriy Osipov met with the representatives of the consular missions accredited in St. Petersburg in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

"Parliamentarism is not a national phenomenon, it has acquired a transboundary character. The establishment of the International Day of Parliamentarism will help to attract the attention of the international community to the important role of parliamentarians in safeguarding of peace, stability, economic growth and prosperity, as well as promoting positive image of parliamentarism as basic democratic value and tradition" noted Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Yuriy Osipov.

Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Evgeniy Grigoriev convey congratulations from the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgiy Poltavchenko.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the consular missions of 27 countries, as well as Deputies of Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council: Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrghyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Ion Lipciu, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Irina Sokolova and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Ibod Rakhimov.
