Saint Petersburg Hosts 8th International Symposium “Tavricheskaya Perspective”

Saint Petersburg State University of Economics provided the venue for the 8th International Symposium “Tavricheskya Perspective”. This event is traditionally co-organized by the IPA CIS and aimed at development of parliamentary, economic and social cooperation in terms of Eurasian economic integration.
Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut and Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Nuskabaj represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the plenary session of the conference.
Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Dmitriy Kobitskiy sent a welcome addressed to the participants. He stressed the significance of long-standing cooperation between the IPA CIS and Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and commended the role of the conference devoted to the development of integration cooperation across Eurasia. “The integration in Eurasia is not only an effective anti-crisis instrument but it also contributes to stable global development and addresses challenges and risks faced by global economic processes. Enhancing Eurasian integration requires also addressing such issues as the harmonization of legislation and effective cooperation in humanitarian sphere. The conference became an important platform to exchange experience and develop new forms of interactions for governmental structures, business community, scientific and educational organizations in different fields,” noted Dmitriy Kobitskiy in his welcoming speech delivered by Askhat Nuskabaj on behalf of Secretary General – Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.
Viktor Kogut addressed the plenary session with the report “Paradigms of Eurasian integration”. He also stressed a crucial role of integration in continental geopolitics. “The Greater Eurasian Partnership is able to claim itself as a significant geopolitical actor in global interactions only on the basis of peaceful settlement of controversial intercivilizational, cross-country relations of Greater Eurasia countries. In that connection the mutual understanding between the “angles” of Russia-China-India triangle as a foundation stone for stability in the Greater Eurasia becomes critically important”, highlighted Viktor Kogut.
Scientists and experts from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mongolia, the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Estonia also took part in the 8th International Symposium “Tavricheskya Perspective”.
