The 136th Assembly of the IPU is taking place in Dhaka, Bangladesh

The regular 136^th Session of the IPU is taking place in Dhaka (People`s Republic of Bangladesh). Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov is attending the event on behalf of the IPA CIS.

Aydin Jafarov met with IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong on the sidelines of the Assembly. At the meeting, he handed over the decision of the IPA CIS Council with the proposal to establish the International Day of Parliamentarism.

On the same day, he also met with Secretary General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Mohammed Reza Majidi. The parties discussed the development of relations between the organizations, considering that many of the IPA CIS members are also the members of the APA. Mohammed Reza Majidi expressed hope that the IPA CIS would attend the General Session of the APA to be held in November this year.
