Vmeste-RF channel presented a report on the work of the IPA CIS in 2017

This year the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly celebrated its 25^th anniversary. According to Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, the IPA CIS became a credible platform during the period. It drafted more than 500 model laws which have been instrumental across the CIS.

The report notes that the autumn session of the IPA CIS actually coincided with the 137^th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, hosted in the Tavrichesky Palace. The 137^th IPU Assembly became the most representative in the history of the organization. 100 speakers of foreign parliaments and delegations from almost 160 countries came to visit Russia.

2018 also promises to be eventful for the IPA CIS. Among the key events are the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, international monitoring of the presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, and the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova.
