Yuriy Osipov met with Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament Zhou Li

The Tavricheskiy Palace, headquarters of the IPA CIS, became the venue of the meeting of Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Yuriy Osipov and Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament Zhou Li.
Yuriy Osipov welcomed the guests in St. Petersburg and spoke about the peacekeeping activity of the IPA CIS. He also stressed the work of the organization in the field of countering traditional and new security-related challenges and threats, providing model legal framework for anti-terrorism actions and work of security and special services of the CIS countries.
He stressed that the monitoring of elections was one of the key missions of the Interparliamentary Assembly. This activity is coordinated by the International Institute for the Monitoring of Democratic Development, Parliamentarism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IIMDD IPA CIS) established in 2006.
The Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council noted that the activity of the IPA CIS is based on respect for sovereignty of other countries. Yuriy Osipov said that over the years the IPA CIS became a credible international institution, that it had already implemented a number of cooperation agreements with leading international organizations such as the UN, PA CE, OSCE PA, and many others.
Yuriy Osipov spoke about the main conferences and forums in the field of international security and disarmament hosted by the IPA CIS and invited the representatives of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament to develop further active cooperation.
Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament Zhou Li thanked the participants for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that both organizations will fruitfully cooperate in the field of countering traditional and new security-related threats and challenges.
The meeting was attended by the Deputies Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council: Plenipotentiary Representative of Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ayk Chilingaryan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan to the IPA CIS Ibod Rakhimov.
