Heads of Diabetic Associations Discussed Implementation of CIS Cooperation Program on Diabetes Prevention

On 2 November 2022, a webinar of the heads of regional diabetic associations was held on the basis of the St. Petersburg City Center of Medical Prevention. The experts discussed the implementation of the CIS Cooperation Program for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes for 2021–2025. It provides for measures aimed at the social protection of diabetic patients, their integration and adaptation in society, the active involvement of civil society in building of a “patient-centered” (i.e. based on the principles of involvement, patient awareness, individualization of the treatment and diagnostic program) diabetes care system.

The webinar brought together Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights, Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Evgenia Vladimirova and Chair of the St. Petersburg Public Organization “St. Petersburg Diabetic Society”, member of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health Marina Shipulina.

The meeting discussed the IPA CIS law-making activities in public health and the participation of the IPA CIS Expert Advisory Board on Public Health in the preparation of the draft of the CIS Cooperation Program for the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes for 2021–2025.
