IPA CIS Autumn Session to Be Held on 25-26 November in Tavricheskiy Palace

The events of the Session, which will be held in person and led by Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, will include the participation of parliamentary delegations led by the heads of parliaments of the CIS Member Nations, representatives of international organizations, academics and experts.
The meetings of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions on Social Policy and Human Rights, on Political Issues and International Cooperation and on Economy and Finance will be held on 25 November. The MPs and experts will discuss the progress of the current work on the model laws in above mention fields and proposals for inclusion in the Long-Term Plan for Model Law-Making in the Commonwealth of Independent States for the next period.
The international conference “Universal Health Coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals” will start at 12:00. The heads of the parliamentary delegations of the IPA CIS and the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization will take part in the event. After the end of the plenary session, the work of the Conference will continue within the panel discussions “Role of Parliaments in Legislative Support of the Right to Access to Public Health Services and Medical Care” and “Right to Universal Health Coverage: Universal Access to Quality Medical Services and Financial Risks Protection”.
The meeting of the Assembly’s governing body - the IPA CIS Council - will start at 15:00. The heads of parliamentary delegations will sum up the results of the events held in 2021: the 9th Nevsky International Ecological Congress, the 3rd Eurasian Women’s Forum, the 6th International Cultural and Educational Forum of the CIS Countries Children of the Commonwealth. They will also hear information about the monitoring of election campaigns in the CIS.
The 53rd plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will take place in the Tavricheskiy Palace on 26 November: the MPs will consider the model laws developed by the Assembly in order to use them in the future in the national legislations of the CIS countries.
