Leadership of IPA CIS Council Secretariat met With Delegation of Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives

A delegation of members of the Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth arrived in St. Petersburg. They were welcomed at the IPA CIS headquarters – the Tavricheskiy Palace – by Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and his Deputies – Plenipotentiary Representatives of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia Aydin Jafarov, Igor Musalimov and Irina Sokolova.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy noted that this is the first visit of the delegation of the Council of the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives in the history of the organization. “We are glad to discuss with you opportunities to deepen interaction with the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies,” the Secretary General noted.

The meeting was attended by Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth.

The Council members highly appreciated the importance of the common work of the Commonwealth parliamentarians on the IPA CIS platform and shared their views on promising areas of joint activities.

Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Russian at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth Andrei Grozov emphasized that the development of sectoral cooperation bodies in the region is one of the important points in the Concept of Russia’s Chairmanship in the CIS in 2024.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development, Parliamentarianism and Suffrage Protection of Citizens of IPA CIS Member Nations (IPA CIS IIMDD), Doctor of Law, Professor Ivan Mushket spoke about the main activities of the Institute.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of Tajikistan at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth Bakhtovar Safarzoda noted that international observers from the IPA CIS are distinguished by high professionalism.
