44 Parties to Participate in Elections in Kyrgyz Republic

The Central Commission on Elections and Holding Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that the deadline for application of documents by the political parties willing to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for 4 October 2020 closed on 8 July 2020. 44 political parties intend to participate in the elections.

According to Chairperson of the Central Commission on Elections and Holding Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhan Shaildabekova, the authorized representatives of 42 parties had been already confirmed; the other candidates were under consideration. She said that the parties would hold events in order to present the lists of their candidates to members of the Jogorku Kenesh until 20 August. The application deadline for the candidates’ registration is 25 August, the campaigning will be held from 4 September until 2 October.
