Azerbaijani and Russian MPs Discussed Development and Strengthening of Bilateral Cooperation

Today, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation hosted the 15th meeting of the Inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation between the Federal Assembly and the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova and First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Ali Huseynli.

The parties considered the issues of further development and strengthening of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation.

According to Galina Karelova, Russia and Azerbaijan closely cooperate within the framework of many international parliamentary organizations, including the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, etc.

The preparation and holding of the third Eurasian Women’s Forum to be held in St. Petersburg from 13 to 15 October 2021 were also discussed at the meeting. Galina Karelova noted that the organizers would be looking forward to welcome the delegation of the Azerbaijan Republic at the Forum.
