Bilateral Meetings of Heads of CIS Countries Take Place in Tavricheskiy Palace

On 16 April 2021, a number of bilateral meetings are held at the Tavricheskiy Palace.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko met with Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova.

During the meeting, Valentina Matvienko stressed that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan were developing steadily. She also noted the importance of the IPA CIS in the establishment of interparliamentary ties and friendly relations between the CIS countries.

In turn, Sahiba Gafarova noted that this meeting would become another impetus to the development of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov also discussed the prospects for bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation.

On the same day, a meeting of Maulen Ashimbayev and Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii took place. The parties acknowledged effective cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries and agreed on the need for its further development. Both Speakers noted the constructive interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations, including the IPA CIS.
