Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Encouraged MPs of Russia and Turkmenistan to Take Joint Initiatives at IPA CIS

Speaker of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke at the 532^nd meeting of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation as part of his official visit to Moscow.

Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko noted that recently, on the initiative and with the personal participation of the Speaker of the upper house of the Turkmen Parliament, projects to strengthen multilateral parliamentary relations had gained momentum.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the prospects for strengthening the bilateral parliamentary dialogue, including at the international level, including within the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. He stressed high respect for the Russian language, literature, cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Russian people in Turkmenistan and proposed to consider the possibility of closer inter-parliamentary cooperation on the cultural and humanitarian track within a medium-term comprehensive program.
