Kyrgyz MPs Adopt a Number of Environmental Laws

On 8 June, the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development considered and adopted in the third reading the draft Law on Cultivation of Nut Plantations in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The draft Law aims to facilitate creation nut plantations with, receiving of good crops, preserving the nut planting and improving control over the imported breeds.

The MPs also adopted in the third reading the draft Law on Bioethanol, which is expected to improve environmental and economic situation, as well as reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.

The Committee considered in the second reading the draft Law on Wastewater Disposal and Waste Treatment Facilities in the Issyk-Kul Biosphere and the adopted in the first reading the draft Law on Limiting Polymeric Bags and Film Circulation in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the amendments to the Code of Violations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
