MPs of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Signed a Cooperation Agreement

On 1 April 2022, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

During the visit, a meeting between Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva took place. The sides noted the high dynamics of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations and discussed the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the spirit of strategic partnership. According to the press service of the Senate, Sahiba Gafarova and Tanzila Narbaeva signed an agreement on cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic.

On the same day, a meeting between Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov took place.

The parties discussed developing of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The speakers agreed to continue the further development of friendly relations and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
