MPs of Russia and Azerbaijan Highly Appreciated Interaction Within IPA CIS

On 22 June 2022, the 17th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation Between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic took place in Moscow. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Galina Karelova and First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Ali Huseynli.
Galina Karelova stressed that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic. She drew attention to the importance of interaction within the IPA CIS, the development of model legislation and work in election observation missions.
Ali Huseynli greeted the meeting participants on behalf of Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova and recalled the centuries-old relationship between Azerbaijan and Russia.
During the meeting, the parties considered the prospects for bilateral and interregional cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of tourism. The parties also outlined the further contours of the commission’s work.
