MPs of Uzbekistan Adopted 88 Laws in 2022

The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan considered, the results of its work in 2022 at the meeting.

MPs adopted and submitted 88 laws to the Senate for approval. There are 51 documents on amendments to the current legislation and 30 draft laws. The lower house also ratified seven international agreements during the year.

Besides, MPs adopted three resolutions on the administrative and territorial structure of the Republic of Uzbekistan and held 20 parliamentary hearings.

The reports of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the implementation of the State Program and the State Budget were reviewed quarterly at the meetings of Legislative Chamber. For the first time last year, the report of Anti-Corruption Agency was considered at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber.

The participants of the meeting pointed out the systematic work of MPs on the development of cooperation with the parliaments of different countries, ensuring active participation of Oliy Majlis in the activities of international inter-parliamentary organizations and promoting Uzbekistan’s initiatives.

They also noted the establishment   of the Council of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation with the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Inter-Parliamentary Commission with the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in 2022.

A number of proposals for further improvement of the Chamber’s activities were put forward at the meeting of Chamber.
