Maulen Ashimbayev and Tanzila Narbaeva Discussed Promotion of Joint Initiatives Within IPA CIS

On 3 June 2021, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva held a meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev. The meeting took place in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The parliamentarians noted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan attached great importance to the enhancing of bilateral cooperation. Over the past four years, their interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas has risen to a high level. The inter-parliamentary dialogue between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has intensified. The parties exchange visits of delegations regularly to study the experience of parliamentary activity.
Tanzila Narbaeva and Maulen Ashimbayev discussed prospects for further strengthening of cooperation, including the development of relations between relevant committees, as well as promoting joint initiatives within the framework of international parliamentary structures (IPU, IPA CIS, etc.) and other international organizations.
According to the press service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the end of the meeting, the parties signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute for Legislative Issues and Parliamentary Research under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Parliamentarism under the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
