“Memory Train” Will Depart on 22 June from Brest

On 9 March, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus hosted a meeting for the preparation of the joint Belarusian-Russian patriotic, cultural and educational project “Memory Train”.

The project was first implemented in 2022 on the initiative of Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova and Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko. High school students from both countries became its participants and visited 15 cities, memorable places of battles during the Great Patriotic War.

This year, the train route will pass through the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. It will start in Brest on 22 June and finish on 3 July 2023 in Minsk on the Independence Day of Belarus.
