Natalia Kochanova and Tanzila Narbayeva Considered Prospects of Interparliamentary Cooperation

On 5 September, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova held a meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva . The sides discussed interparliamentary interaction and strengthening cooperation in the economic, trade and educational spheres of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The parties underlined that the MPs of the two countries actively cooperate within the framework of the IPA CIS and the Inter-parliamentary Union.
The MPs discussed the exchange of experience in lawmaking, gender and youth policy, the expansion and deepening of cooperation between the regions, as well as the establishment of cooperation in the sphere of digital development of the regions.
Within the framework of the meeting, memorandum of cooperation between the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, of cooperation between the Youth Council (Parliament) under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Youth Parliament under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as of cooperation between the Public Association “Belarusian Women’s Union” and the Committee on Family and Women Affairs under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan were signed.
On the previous day, 4 September, Natalia Kochanova and Tanzila Narbayeva discussed interaction between Belarus and Uzbekistan in the field of education. Natalia Kochanova informed about the advisory council established under the Council of the Republic on social adaptation and integration of children with special developmental needs, and suggested that the Uzbek side share its experience in this area.
