National Flag Day Celebrated in Republic of Armenia

On 15 June, the Republic of Armenia commemorates National Flag Day. On this date in 2006, the country’s National Assembly passed the law on the National Flag of the Republic of Armenia, making National Flag Day an officially recognized public holiday.
The Armenian flag is a rectangular panel with three equal horizontal stripes — red, blue, and orange. The red color represents the Armenian Highlands, the Armenian people’s struggle for survival, the Christian faith, independence, and freedom. Blue stands for the desire to live under a peaceful sky. Orange represents the Armenian people’s creative talent and hard work.
