Parliament of Republic of Kazakhstan Adopted Law on Complete Abolition of Death Penalty

Today, under the chairmanship of Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, a meeting of the chamber adopted the Law on Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Abolition of the Death Penalty.

During the meeting, it was noted that this law was a logical continuation of the work carried out in the republic to gradually reduce the use of the death penalty. According to the press service of the chamber, the adoption of the relevant law by the senators is the result of the execution of a direct order of the President and the response of the MPs to public inquiries.
