Parliament of Republic of Kazakhstan Simplified Holding of Rallies

The meeting of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chaired by Nurlan Nigmatulin, agreed with the Senate amendments to the draft Law on the Procedure of Organizing and Conducting Peaceful Assemblies in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the amendments and additions are aimed at specification on a several provisions of the draft law. In particular, it is proposed to establish in the cities of national importance, capital and administrative centres of the regions a number of specialized places for organizing and conducting peaceful assemblies. Furthermore, according to the amendments, the organizer and participants of the peaceful assemblies shall have the possibility to use personal protective equipment. The law established the notification system for holding peaceful assemblies.

As a result, members of the Mazhilis unanimously supported the document. It will be submitted to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for signature.
