Parliament of Republic of Moldova Decided to Establish National Fund for Regional and Local Development

Today, at the plenary session of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the MPs adopted a draft law providing for the establishment of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
It is assumed that the fund is to become the main source of financing investment projects of local public authorities in the field of energy, economy, rural development (especially in terms of water supply and sewerage), tourist attraction, etc.
According to the press service of the Parliament, the new structure will operate on the basis of the National Fund for Regional Development and will take over the regional and local development projects. Also, the document proposes the establishment of the National Council for Coordination of Regional and Local Development, its competencies and activity regulations to be approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
