Preparations Begin for International Observation of Russia’s Parliamentary Elections

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko has sent invitations to a number of international organizations and the parliaments of the CIS and BRICS Member States to participate in the international observation of the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Those invited to monitor the electoral campaign include delegations from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation , the Arab Parliament, and other international parliamentary organizations.

The next parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation are scheduled to take place on 18-20 September 2026.
