Referendum to Determine Form of Government Announced in Kyrgyz Republic

On 11 December, Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov signed the Law on Calling a Referendum (popular vote) to Determine the Form of Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the official website of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Law calls a referendum throughout Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, 10 January 2021. The people of the Kyrgyz Republic will have to choose between a presidential or parliamentary republic or vote against all options.

According to the decree of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic, the early presidential elections will be also held on 10 January 2021.
