Russian Electoral Legislation Harmonized with Amendments to Constitution

Today, the meeting of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation adopted the amendments to a number of laws concerning the legislation on elections and referendums harmonizing them with the amendments to the Constitution.

The amendments regulate the conditions for assuming the positions of the Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, the President of the Russian Federation, members of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The amendments also concern the election commissions for holding remote electronic voting, beginning of campaigning period, information in the ballot papers, etc.
