Russian Senators Amended Agreement on Cooperation of CIS Member Nations in Fight Against Drug Trafficking

On 23 June 2021, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation ratified the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Member Nations in Fight Against Drug Trafficking, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors of 30 November 2000.

The amendments include information on national lists of drugs and precursors, crimes related to drug trafficking, methods of concealment and illegal movement of drugs across the state borders of the CIS Member Nations, organized criminal groups and individuals using cross-border channels to move drugs.

The Agreement is also amended by such forms of cooperation as the creation of joint investigative and operational teams, the implementation of comprehensive coordinated and joint interdepartmental, preventive and operational-search measures, and special operations.
