Eighth Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions to Focus on Scientific and Technical Cooperation Between Two Countries in Era of Digitalization

The Forum will be held under the auspices of the upper chambers of the parliaments of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on 29 June – 1 July 2021 via videoconferencing in Minsk and Moscow.

The Forum will feature the following sections:

  • “Directions for the Development of Russian-Belarusian Cooperation in the Field of Science and Education in the Era of “Great Challenges” and Digital Technologies”,
  • “The Role of Digitalization in the Formation of a Single Scientific and Technological Space of the Union State”,
  • “Improving Engagement of Russia and Belarus on the Issues of Implementation of the Union Programs and Scientific and Technical Projects Within the Framework of International Treaties”,
  • “Law and Digitalization in the Union State: Prospects and Directions”,
  • “Youth Online: Digital Environment of the Future”.

At the same time, a joint meeting of the governing bodies of the Youth Council (Parliament) at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Chamber of Young Legislators at the Federation Council will take place.

On June 30, Deputy Speaker of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Isachenko and Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Yury Vorobyov will hold a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Interregional Cooperation.

On 1 July, the plenary session of the Forum on the topic “Scientific and Technical Cooperation Between Russia and Belarus in the Era of Digitalization” will be opened by Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova.

The Forum will bring together heads of ministries and agencies, public authorities, enterprises and organizations, business representatives of the two countries.
